What is the Tech Scholar program?

Michelin recognizes that real-world experience is key to a well-rounded education. The Michelin Technical Scholarship Program offers:

• Hands-on technical training with experienced technicians
• $3000 in tuition support
• Summer employment at one of Michelin's three NS facilities
• Priority consideration for part-time work (where available)
• Successful Tech Scholars are eligible for employment upon graduation

Tech Scholar Qualifying Programs:

• Electronic Engineering Technology
• Electronic Engineering Technician
• Electro Mechanical Technician
• Electrical Engineering Technology
• Industrial Instrumentation
• Industrial Mechanical 

How to apply

To apply, you must first:

• Be a first year student in one of the qualifying programs
• Be available for summer employment
• Apply through the NS Community College Awards www.nscc.ca/awards
• Attend an information session
• Successfully complete a math and aptitude test
• Top scorers will be asked to submit more information such as an application and resume

next steps

After the Technical Recruiting Coordinator reviews your application and resume, you may be invited to participate in a behavioural interview.

• If you are successful on the interview, you will be awarded a scholarship conditional on background and reference checks.

Expectations

As a Tech Scholar, you are expect to:

• Maintain good academic standing
• Successfully complete a summer work term
• Graduate from your program
• Pass a technical knowledge test

Successful Tech Scholars may receive an offer of employment following additional recruitment steps.
