Your role:

As a member of the materials team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the industrialization of rubber materials and compounds. He/she will take part in steering the resolution of problems in support of the track and wheel product manufacturing sites and will be part of the validation chain for the new industrialization standards for compounds, tools, and methods. It will be an important player in its field, scope, and portfolio from an operational point of view.

Our team at the Michelin Magog laboratory employs innovative and progressive methods and can count on a team of dedicated experts.

We need you for:

  • Participate in the analysis of product performance risks related to raw material and industrial process factors, and in the associated action plans in his/her field, according to tools, methods and processes;
  • Contribute to the quality process in its area of activity and provide the elements required for technical validation (Design Review, Homologation/Qualification, etc.);
  • Define test plans for materials projects, in line with risk analyses, monitor their implementation, provide an objective technical summary, propose resulting actions and ensure that industrialization standards are kept up to date.
  • Support rubber track manufacturing plants (agricultural and motor sports markets) in the approval of new compound subcontractors, while respecting performance/cost/time constraints;
  • Collaborate with rubber track manufacturing plants in problem-solving by ensuring the technical link with our current compound subcontractors, while supporting the handling of non-conformity in its field;
  • Work closely with the existing team of industrializers, compound developers and the analysis laboratory;
  • Develop and maintain links with compound industrialization experts at other Group sites.

What do you need to possess for being successful:

  • You have a college diploma in plastics processing or any other diploma related to the role;
  • You have between 3 and 5 years' experience in the rubber, plastics or other relevant industrialization field;
  • You have a good knowledge of extrusion and calendering processes;
  • You are at ease in a bilingual environment (French and English) so as to be able to communicate orally and in writing with your colleagues and our international partners;
  • You are a frequent user of the Office Suite;
  • You are available for travel within our global operations, mainly in the United States (up to 30%);
  • You are collaborative, dynamic and an outstanding team player;
  • You have the ability to solve problems using a structured methodology;
