Michelin North America (Canada) Inc is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Department Manager to join its team in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia.

The role of the Manufacturing Department Manager is to drive on-site employee performance towards the achievement of company business objectives relating to safety, quality, customer service, and cost.

Responsibilities:

This position requires the successful candidate to ensure production and quality progress performance in their area of responsibility. Job responsibilities include:

  • leadership to achieve business objectives in safety, quality, customer service and cost;
  • production and maintenance planning;
  • budget management;
  • Identification and of process improvements;
  • developing and implementing employee coaching plans;
  • working closely on a multi-functional team to improve capabilities through effective performance management;
  • employee development; and
  • succession planning;

Requirements for this position include:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent;
  • 5+ years progressive production and people management experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • ability to build lasting internal and external relationships;
  • strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • well organized and able to balance multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • ability to engage and empower staff and use key employee metrics and performance indicators such as safety, quality, customer service and cost to identify and recognize positive performance; and
  • solid teamwork, interpersonal, leadership and planning skills.
